It should be a joy to watch actors like Pierfrancesco Favino, Berenice Bejo, Nanni Moretti, and Laura Morante interact on the screen. However THE HUMMINGBIRD, screening in-person and virtually at Seattle International Film Festival, is a messy, non-linear affair that tries to fit a season’s worth of sentimental This Is Us plot twists into a 2+ hour film.
