Karl R. Hearne’s THE G starring the always reliable Dale Dickey is the best revenge movie I have seen in a while. It continues the recent trend of films about criminals taking advantage of the elderly and, as badass as June Squibb was in Thelma, they really mess with the wrong person this time.
Dickey is furious and brutal here. Romane Denis also shines as the step-granddaughter who is looking out for her. The script is a little rough around the edges, but this is a dark, violent, and entertaining film that you should seek out when it’s released.
A Love Song was one of my favorites of 2022 and I want more films with Dale Dickey as a protagonist!
