Six Days in Spring – San Sebastián 2025

Winner of the Best Director and Screenplay awards at this year’s San Sebastián Film Festival, Joachim Lafosse’s SIX DAYS IN SPRING is a breezy drama capturing divorced mother Sana (Eye Haïdara) and her two sons on vacation in Saint-Tropez.

After her original plan of staying with her boyfriend Jules (Jules Waringo) falls apart and she runs out of options, Sana decides that the four of them spend the week at her ex-in-laws’ gorgeous vacant villa, unbeknownst to them.

While the tension over their potential discovery by others feels low-stakes, the film remains engaging thanks to fine performances, a lovely score, and strong visuals that juxtapose bright outdoor settings with dark nighttime sequences.

The enchanting closing scene evokes a nostalgic sense that leaves you longing for your own childhood vacations.
