You think your neighbors are bad? You might want to hug them after you see the ones from hell in Jed Hart’s RESTLESS. The life of a retirement home nurse, played by Lyndsey Marshal, turns upside down when unsavory characters playing loud drum and bass music until the wee hours move in next door.
Marshal is brilliant making us feel her character’s pain as her physical and mental health deteriorates and her anxiety rises. Hart succeeds in creating an atmosphere of dread and leads us to the best ending of any film I’ve seen at this year’s festival. Highly recommended as long as you can handle the high level of stress the film induces.
