Charlotte Ercoli takes obsession with nostalgia to new levels in her West Village comedy FIOR DI LATTE.
Tim Heidecker is hilarious as playwright Mark, who is addicted to huffing the perfume he bought when he was on vacation in Florence to bring back memories of that magical time she shared with Francesca (Marta Pozzan) and find inspiration for his new play. Francesca is actually in New York now sharing his apartment, but he is still fixated on the vacation and the perfume rather than making the most of his time with her.
The 16mm photography is an excellent fit for the material. There are two lovely original musical numbers including one sung by Kevin Kline. The supporting cast that includes Julia Fox, Gina Gershon, and Fisher Stevens is stellar. Such a quirky fun ride!
