Tim Blake Nelson is angry, resentful, and very funny in one of his meatiest roles as ex-boxer Bernard ‘Bang Bang’ Rozyski in Vincent Grashaw’s Detroit drama BANG BANG.
While Nelson is the film’s greatest asset, the script draws you in right from the get-go and the supporting cast that includes Glenn Plummer, Kevin Corrigan, Andrew Liner, Erica Gimpel, and Nina Arianda is also strong. The fight scene towards the end is something to behold!
This is the kind of film crowds will love. It’s always a long shot for an indie, but if a major studio picks it up and puts the right campaign behind him, Nelson might even be a contender during awards season. Leather jacket over a hospital gown might also become a trendy look after the film is released.
