THIS WORLD IS NOT MY OWN about Atlanta folk artist Nellie Mae Rowe combines informative documentary with innovative animation. Uzo Aduba voices Rowe. It premiered at SXSW and can currently be watched online via Atlanta Film Festival in the US and Hot Docs in Canada.
Miss Viborg
MISS VIBORG can currently be watched online via Atlanta Film Festival. It’s a sweet and very Scandinavian dramedy, the kind that Hollywood loves to remake like A Man Called Ove. If it happens, my casting suggestions are Margo Martindale and Alan Alda.
Hundreds of Beavers
If you are a fan of slapstick silent comedies and animation, head over to the virtual platform of Atlanta Film Festival this weekend to watch Mike Cheslik’s HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS. It is incredibly creative and very funny.
2023 Seattle International Film Festival lineup announced

Dusty & Stones
The fun little documentary DUSTY & STONES can be enjoyed by everyone, but if you are a music person, you’ll get a bigger kick out of it. It follows the country duo from their hometown in Swaziland to a music competition in Texas. Available to watch virtually via Atlanta Film Festival.
Winter Boy
Christophe Honoré’s WINTER BOY, which had premiered in Toronto, is on MUBI today. The cast includes Paul Kircher, Vincent Lacoste, Juliette Binoche, Erwan Kepoa Falé, and Honoré himself.
Love and Death
New miniseries LOVE AND DEATH from David E. Kelley and director Lesli Linka Glatter is on HBO Max. It is based on a true story and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, and Krysten Ritter.
Clock / From Black
For horror fans, Alexis Jacknow’s CLOCK with Dianna Agron is on Hulu and Thomas Marchese’s FROM BLACK with Anna Camp is on Shudder and AMC+.
Peter Pan & Wendy
David Lowery’s follow up to The Green Knight is PETER PAN & WENDY on Disney+.
The Real Thing
Koji Fukada’s 2020 Cannes romantic comedy is on MUBI in its original 10-episode miniseries format. However looking at the length of episodes on MUBI, it appears to be the same length as the film version. Therefore I’m not sure if there is any additional footage or it the editing is substantially different.
