Eternal Playground – Tribeca 2024

It’s not the first time a character behaving erratically ruined an otherwise interesting film. That’s the case with Eternal Playground from directors Joseph Roze and Pablo Cotten as well.

As far as films about grief go, the concept seemed like an original one. After the passing of his twin sister, Gaspard brings together a group of their old friends to spend a few days at their old school while it is empty for the summer holiday.

It was a relatively charming film until the script went off the rails in the third act and the ending did not work for me either. The 16mm photography looks fine at times, but is mostly overcooked.
